God's Love for You

God created us to know and enjoy him personally.  Yet for many, God seems far away, distant and impersonal.  Obviously, there is a problem.

The problem is that man has chosen to live his life his own way; independent and apart from God.  This is what the Bible refers to as sin.  Sin has consequences; guilt, fear, doubt, hatred, weakness and judgment (an eternal destiny in hell).

God has provided a solution for our sin; Jesus Christ.  Jesus took the punishment we deserve by dying on the cross for our sins so that we might experience a personal relationship with God.  He (Jesus) personally carried away our sins in his own body on the cross so we can be dead to sin and live for what is right.  You have been healed by His wounds! (1 Peter 2:24 NLT)  The blessings of a personal relationship with God are; forgiveness, peace, purpose, love, power, joy and eternal life in heaven.  God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

However, it is not enough just to know this.  Each of us by faith must receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior.  Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12 NIV)  The A, B, C's of receiving Christ are...

  • A= Admit.  Acknowledge that you have sinned in your attempt to find significance and security and that you desire to turn from your sin.  Who can say, "I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin"? (Prov 20:9 NIV)
  • B= Believe.  Trust that Jesus Christ died in your place and rose again from the dead to be your Savior... providing forgiveness for your sins and eternal life in heaven with God.
  • C= Choose.  Invite Jesus Christ into your life to forgive and direct you.

If it is your desire to have a personal relationship with God you can express your faith through the following prayer...
Dear Lord, I want to know you personally.  I am willing with your help, to turn from my sins.  Thank you for sending Jesus Christ who died in my place and rose again to be my Savior.  Come into my life and lead me.  Amen.

If you prayed this congratulations!  There is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." (Luke 15:10 NIV)  Please let us know of your new faith so we can give you some directions on how to grow and mature spiritually.  God bless you!
